Rush to Crush Cancer

School Challenge

Take on the challenge!

The School Challenge program engages 6-12th graders who want to work towards a common goal: creating life without cancer. Through this program, students compete to raise funds for cancer research at UPMC Hillman Cancer Center, with a prize going to the highest-earning team.

Whether it's for PE credit, an after-school educational program, or a team bonding effort for your sports team, there are plenty of opportunities for students to learn the importance of teamwork and community engagement through the R2C School Challenge!

Team Requirements:

  • Have 2 or more participants who are actively enrolled in 6-12th grade at your school and are 12 years of age or older.
  • Participants have to register for the School Challenge and select one of the following R2C events by May 10, 2024: Shanahan/Kaylor 15-Mile ride (in-person), virtual ride, PNC Mile to Crush Cancer, or fundraiser.
  • Have a team captain who is a staff member or a volunteer at the school (i.e., a teacher, guidance counselor, coach, booster member), and are 21 years of age or older.
  • Have (1) adult chaperone riding for every (5) 15-mile riders on your team. Chaperones can be parents or school staff members and must be 18 years of age or older.

Please email r2c@rushtocrushcancer.org if you are interested in getting a team involved!
